Who went: Brendan Heywood, Iain Mackay and Iain's freinds Leesa
Moore and Justin Damic
Check out the photos. Also check out
the photos of the last chandler trip.
Decided that the photos from the last Chandler trip didn't turn out
so I just had to do it again! Oh well.
Left at 6:30am and got back at 8pm. Drive to Wollomombi then walk along
the track over Wollomombi river to the lookout over Chandler falls.
Walk of to the left for a couple hundred meters then down the valley
then follow the river down to the falls edge.
When we were half way there I realised we were one belay device short
so I ended up doing the whole trip on Munter hitches (or Italian hitches).
It wasn't actually that bad and although it is easier to abseil on a
Sticht plate it is heaps easier to unclip when you are in water using
the hitch. Of course a rap rack is even better.
The water was a bit lower that the first trip and we saw (and smelt)
two dead turtles washed over waterfalls.
On the walk out I saw another green tree snake sunning itself on the
path but again it evaded me before I could whip out my camera. Iain
also saw another snake which was a greeny grey brown colour of the same
size and shape.
