Elaines gorge is probably the most exciting canyon in the region.
It is very steep and drops almost 600 meter down to the changler river.
Access is via private property and you need permission from two
different owners as we found out the hard way.
We got of to a late start and had a bit of trouble finding the first
sling but after that we did fairly well.
As we were running a bit late to start with and had a large group
we had to bail about half way down and exit via a north ridge rather
than going right down to the Chandler River and then up the southern
ridge.
