I was looking for a simple camp for the troops that would look at home wherever the Persians were campaigning and so I came up with this representation. The base is just 3mm MDF that has been painted dark brown and then a mottled finish was applied using a wheat coloured paint. Lichen was used to represent an abattis like fencing, flocking was applied in a random manner and the last of the metal camels that I had lying around were used to decorate the base. To achieve the look of recumbent camels I did some surgery on their legs!
