Women-Friendly Web Sites

I must admit that I haven't ready every link on every page below, so although I think that all these pages are basically good, the fact that it is linked to this page doesn't necessarily mean that I endorse everything expressed in it. In fact, if you think for only a short time, you will realise that, given that some links are outside my faith tradition, it's highly likely that I don't agree with everything. If something on one or more of them strikes you as odd and jarring, please mail me and let me know. I may not agree with it either, and even if I do, I'd probably enjoy the discussion.

Women/Feminism in General

green dotFeminism and Women's Studies Links to a whole pile of interesting stuff compiled by the women's studies department of Carnegie Mellon University. Follow the link up to the English server for access to heaps of other interesting things like gender studies info and vegetarian recipes.
*Please note that I haven't read everything in this module carefully, so the fact that I have included the link doesn't necessarily mean I endorse the information or any advice it gives. This may sound paranoid, but it concerns me a great deal that there is an awful lot of so-called health information around which re-inforces the tendency for many women to develop eating disorders and inappropriate body images.

The best book I've found on this so far is Kaz Cooke's "Real Gorgeous - the truth about body and beauty", Allen & Unwin, 1994 and the truth about weight is that if you are eating a sensible, balanced diet which is low in fat and high in fibre and complex carbohydrate, in quantities based on the healthy diet pyramid and exercising three times a week for at least half an hour, you are probably the right weight for you, or getting there.

Feminist Religion

Although I am Christian, not all these links are to Christian sites. I make no apology for this, I just thought I ought to warn you. Sadly, many of the links I had here originally are no longer in existence, at least not where they were.  I have found quite a few more in the last week or so, but some excellent ones have just disappeared.
