22 January 07 I decided that it might be easier to set up a blog than to keep updating this site, so if you want news about my research you need to visit my research blog.
Without getting too philosophical, it depends a bit on what question you're asking. I'm a Uniting Church minister and University chaplain, married with two children (an HSC candidate and a recent UNE graduate in his first job) and enrolled part time in a PhD programme in Studies in Religion.
Research-wise, it's probably most important that you know that my thesis is looking at the parables of the Reign (Kingdom) of God that appear in the Gospel of Thomas and comparing them with their parallels in the Synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke). I am looking at what we can learn from them about the Thomas community. It's quite technical, so if you want to know more about it, I'd suggest you click on the tab at the top labelled "Thesis".
With respect to UNE Council: You may well have found this page because you are also a postgraduate student enrolled at the University of New England and are wondering about your representative on the UNE Council. I am concerned that postgraduate interests are represented in the decision-making processes of the University in the Voluntary Student Unionism environment and am committed to enhancing two-way communication between the University and postgraduate students. I hope to be able to report regularly via web and e-mail and wherever possible obtain student feedback about issues before Council that directly affect postgraduates. If you want to know more about how I propose to do this, you'll find that information by clicking on the tab labelled "Council".
If you're interested in whether I have any experience that might lead you to think I can do what I'm suggesting I will do, then the last tab, labelled "Experience" will give you some relevant information.
If you're a UNE postgrad and have any questions or comments, e-mail me and I'll do my best to answer them.
